Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones this website uses, what we would use them for, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
1.The short version
We record your choice in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so even remembering your preference does not create an identifier for you.
2.What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On your next visit the browser sends it back, which lets the site recognise your browser — for example to keep you signed in, remember a preference, or count you as a returning visitor.
Related technologies work in similar ways and are covered by the same rules:
- Local storage and session storage — data kept in your browser rather than sent with every request.
- Pixels and tracking tags — a tiny invisible image or script that reports a page view or an action to a third party.
- Software development kits (SDKs) — code inside a mobile app that performs a similar function.
- Device fingerprinting — inferring an identifier from your device's characteristics. We do not do this.
Cookies are described by who sets them and how long they last:
- First-party — set by the site you are visiting. Third-party — set by another organisation whose code is on the page.
- Session — deleted when you close your browser. Persistent — kept for a set period.
3.The law we follow
In the UK, cookies are governed by regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), read together with the UK GDPR. In the EEA the equivalent rules come from the ePrivacy Directive as implemented locally, read with the EU GDPR.
The requirements are the same in substance:
- You must be given clear information about what each cookie does before it is set.
- You must give consent before any non-essential cookie is set. Consent must be a freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous, affirmative action.
- Silence, scrolling, continuing to browse, or a pre-ticked box are not consent.
- Refusing must be as easy as accepting.
- Consent must be withdrawable at any time, as easily as it was given.
- Cookies strictly necessary to deliver a service you requested are exempt from consent, but you must still be told about them.
Our banner reflects all of this: nothing non-essential loads before you choose, "Reject non-essential" sits alongside "Accept all" with equal prominence, and a Cookie settings link in the footer of every page reopens your choices.

Our web server and our contact-form provider keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These are not cookies and are not used to track you across sites. They are covered in our Privacy Policy.
5.How we store your choice

This entry is strictly necessary to honour your choice, so it is set without consent — we could not respect a refusal without remembering it. You can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
6.Categories we ask consent for
The banner offers three categories. Two are currently empty; they exist so that consent is already in place before anything is ever added.

If we add anything to the analytics or marketing categories, we will update the tables in this policy with the specific cookie names, providers, purposes and durations before it goes live, and your existing consent choice will continue to be respected.
7.Third parties
There are currently no third-party cookies on this website. For completeness, these are the third parties involved in running it, and what they do:

Fonts are self-hosted on our own domain rather than loaded from a font network, so visiting this site does not disclose your visit to a third-party font provider.
8.Changing or withdrawing consent
You can change your mind at any time, in any of these ways:
- Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page on this site.
- Clear cookies and site data in your browser, which resets your choice entirely.
- Email accounts@adlegion.com and ask us to help.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done while consent was in place.
9.Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and block third-party cookies specifically. The controls are usually under Settings, then Privacy.
- Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Prevent cross-site tracking
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Enhanced Tracking Protection
On a mobile device you can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in the operating system's privacy settings.
Blocking all cookies will break sign-in and preference features on many websites. It will not break this one.
10.Advertising cookies elsewhere
We are an advertising agency. Campaigns we run for clients rely on cookies and identifiers set by those clients' websites and by advertising platforms — not by this site. Where a client is the advertiser, they are the controller and their own privacy and cookie notices apply, and obtaining consent on their property is their responsibility. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy explains the advertising technology involved.
To reduce advertising tracking generally:
- Your Online Choices — opt out of participating European ad networks
- Network Advertising Initiative — opt out of participating US networks
- Google Ads Settings and Meta Ad Preferences — control personalisation on those platforms
11.Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to a browser "Do Not Track" signal, so most sites ignore it. Because we set no tracking cookies at all, the point is moot here: there is nothing for such a signal to switch off.
If we add analytics or advertising technology, we will treat an opted-out Global Privacy Control signal as a refusal of the analytics and marketing categories.
12.Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change, and always before a new non-essential cookie is set. The version and date at the top of the page show when it last changed. Where a change requires fresh consent, we will ask for it again.
